Pilates Reformer Plus

This class utilizes the amazing Pilates Reformer for half the class than incorporates some of our additional Pilates styles (Mat /Springboard, Ballet bar) as well as Yoga, Strength Training, Functional Fitness techniques and more to give you that all in one workout experience. The variations of the class will depend on the instructor and continually change for variety. Combining a Pilates reformer routine with additional forms of exercise help to maximize your time with us and give you the best possible bang for your buck! Every class is a beautiful juxtaposition of what you are used to and something completely new.

Pilates Fusion SCULPT (Mat/Springboard + Ballet Bar + Strength Training)

This Class utilizes the Group Exercise Room. Fusing Pilates Ballet Bar workouts with mat and springboard Pilates to sculpt and trim, activate the core and strengthen the entire body. This class will train your muscles isometrically, eccentrically and concentrically to yield the greatest metabolic response for your body. We will also utilize strength training techniques to help you get a well-rounded workout. Mat Pilates is often referred to as being more intense than apparatus (reformer) Pilates as it teaches to create resistance within your own body.

The instructors will constantly create new blends of mat/springboard pilates, ballet bar pilates, and strength training exercises to keep your body guessing and your mind engaged. Each instructor will teach the class in their own way, with an emphasis on their personal strengths.

For those who are unfamiliar with the use of ballet bar exercises, they isolate core muscle groups with slow burn exercise and muscle sculpting workouts. These exercises are proven to intensify the strengthening workouts and change the body in three distinct ways:

  • Elongate each major muscle group.
  • Burn away body fat around key muscles.
  • Stretch tight muscles, including those surrounding the hips and lower back

The Pilates Reformer is an apparatus you use for resistance as well as assistance creating a dynamic form of exercise with a multitude of variations.

Gentle precise adjustments and a healing touch (Reiki) are integral facets of her instruction. Whether in a class or on a personal basis her keen perception of each students needs guides her teaching.

GYROKINESIS® Class

GYROKINESIS® is an exercise modality that guides users to simultaneously stretch and strengthen muscles and tendons while also articulating and mobilizing the joints. Corresponding breathing patterns are engaged during the performance of the exercises, thereby increasing coordination, endurance and aerobic activity. This class is performed on a stool and mat. This group class will strengthen your core while elongating muscles. Movement is circular and truly flows. GYROKINESIS® is a system of exercises that anyone can perform, regardless of age or state of health.

Total Body Boot Camp

A fast paced, high energy, calorie burning workout that will get you results FAST! Experience a true boot camp style class that is safe, fun and highly effective. Expect a great cardio challenge and push yourself to new limits! Boot camp workouts are efficient because you work your entire body-- heart and muscles--by going from one exercise to another with no rest. The workouts involve calisthenics like pushups, jumping jacks, crunches and other body weight exercises...the difference lies in the intensity. In boot camp, your challenge is to take your body to its limit. You work, you sweat and, best of all, you burn calories like crazy. Be sure to wear athletic shoes.

Pilates Reformer Beginner Stretch

Are you new to Pilates? Or do you want an in-depth refresher on neutral pelvis vs imprinted pelvis, breathing techniques, and form. If so this class is for you. This class is more structured towards the fundamentals and concepts. Dive into the basics again... This class is definitely a workout for your mind and body, and improves any Pilates or fitness practice by revisiting the Basics.

We accept Visa/MasterCard. All classes must be pre-paid and reserved through our online scheduling system. All Privates are pre-paid online and booked over the phone by calling 858-531-2348.

A 24-hr cancellation notice is required to avoid being charged for the class. NO EXCEPTIONS.

HOW DO I PREPARE FOR MY FIRST CLASS OR PRIVATE SESSION?

Most importantly, bring a positive attitude. Leave all your worries behind. The class is for you, not the others around you. You need to be present minded when working out to maximize the benefits of the class.

Bring a towel as you will most likely sweat, we also have towels for your convenience.

Wear loose, comfortable workout clothes that allow your muscles to stretch and your skin to "breathe". If you are taking boot camp work out shoes may also be necessary, all other classes may be done with clean bare feet.

If you choose to wear socks, please make sure that the sole has a grip.

Remove any dangling jewelry.

Wash off any perfume prior to class to respect any allergies of your fellow students and wash your hands and feet of any lotions to prevent slipping.

Turn off your cell phone prior to class.

Bring a water bottle, we also have a water cooler and cups for your convenience.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I WORK OUT AT CLUB PILATES SAN DIEGO?

Listen to your body. We recommend first purchasing the 2 for 1 introductory class special. Try two different classes and different teachers to get a feel for the studio and routine. Our most popular options are the 14 Classes for $280 or the Economic Stimulus Package, and the 20 Classes in 32 Days for $200. There is a big difference between the two packages. One package encourages 2X a week workouts while the other encourages 5X a week workout. Based on your fitness level and time you have available for working out decide which package works best for you. If you are doing the 5 classes in 1 week be sure to mix it up between Pilates Reformer Classes, Yoga, Boot camp, Ballet Bar, and our Pilates/Yoga/Strength Training Fusion Classes. These 2 packages are not the only options(just the most popular), we offer smaller packages for your convenience, as well as packages for those who can only come every once in a while.

Be sure to make healthy eating choices including fresh veggies, fruit and drink lots of water.
