Club Pilates will begin Pilates Teacher Training in September of 2008. Space is limited to 6 individuals.

Club Pilates Teacher Training includes Pilates Mat training, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, and barrel. Anatomy, Physiology, Applied Kinesiology, Biomechanics and Psychological aspects of movement will be addressed in this modern and evolved Pilates training course. We will not just go over the movements, because you can purchase a manual and do that on your own time. We are going to address why certain movements are good for some people and not others and how to address a persons needs based not only on their posture but also on their personality. Cues, Transitions of movements, programming, postural assessment and other fitness modalities will also be included in this rigorous and effective training course. We provide a friendly open environment for learning and success.

The Club Pilates Teacher training will blend the best of 5 different teacher training programs to provide you the best training possible.

We will provide you with the skeleton of the best Pilates manual available. However it is your job to complete the manual with the information provided in lecture, and the resources provided. It is like writing a thesis for a doctorate degree. I have found that the learning process works best if you listen, watch, practice, study, write and talk about the area of interest you are learning about. In our training program you will listen in lecture, watch in classes, practice on your own, study the resources, write your own manual and talk about it with your peers, instructor and clients.

Here is the break down of hours:

500 hours are required and you have a 1 year time frame to turn in your completed manual, take the final test, and train your instructor one on one to become certified.
Lecture will be Friday's from 6-9pm and Saturdays from 12-7pm for 12 weeks. Exact dates will be ironed out on the first date of the teacher training, and we will do our best to work around Holidays, weddings etc.

The training cost is $4,000. plus supplies and any other additional expenses. A digital camera is recommended for pictures for the final manual.

"Anantomy of Movement" By Blandine Calais-Germain is required text.

"The Pilates Body" By Brooke Siler is required text.

"Pilates" By Rael Isacowitz is required text.
